Students are admitted ONLY Fall Semester each year. The priority deadline for applications is February 1 each year. Applications are reviewed as received, and are accepted up to August 15, or until the Fall class has been filled, whichever is sooner.

Application requirements

All students are required to submit a professional statement, two letters of recommendation AND apply to the University as a transfer student or for those who already attend the U of MN a Change of College application.  Full instructions on how to apply as a transfer studnet or U of MN student are below. All documents must be submitted before your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Below you will find links to the instructions and required forms for these requirements:

The University of Minnesota Health Careers Center offers an online workshop that will assist you with preparing your professional statement.

The admittance process may vary if you are a:

Transfer student

Students transferring to the University of Minnesota from another college or university apply to the Program of Mortuary Science by completing the online Transfer Application for Admission through the Office of Admissions.

NOTE
When completing the online Transfer Application for Admission choose the following when completeing step 2. Education:

  • Academic Interest drop-down menu - choose Mortuary Science Premajor
  • College of Interest drop-down menu - Medical School

International student

International students wishing to apply to the Program of Mortuary Science should visit the Office of Admissions International Student web site for application information.

Student currently enrolled in another college within the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus

Students who are currently enrolled in a degree-granting college on the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota should complete an Undergraduate Change of College Form.

Student currently enrolled on a University of Minnesota campus, other than the Twin Cities

Students wishing to transfer to the Program of Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota campuses located in Duluth, Rochester, Morris or Crookston should complete an Undergraduate Change of College Form.

Student that would like to add a second degree program

Students who wish to add the Program of Mortuary Science as their second degree program should complete an Additional Undergraduate Degree Program Application.
